Position: Nursery chef at Le Monde Petit Nursery in Burnley

How did you feel after finishing the BUPA Manchester 10k run?

I felt a wonderful feeling of achievement - I knew I could do it. My first 10k surrounded by amazing people cheering me on... I've never had so many words of encouragement and high fives. I'm so proud to have a finisher's T-shirt and a medal and to know we have raised money for cancer research for those brave people fighting cancer and beating it.

How did you train for the run?

Walking to and from work (up a steep hill on the way home), weekend power walks and lots of exercise classes at St Peter's Centre, Burnley.

How much have you raised so far and what was your time for finishing the race?

We've raised £311 so far. My official time was one hour, 34 minutes and 14 seconds. My overall position was 27,127 out of 40,000 and I finished 323rd out of my age group.

Are you planning to do any more runs in the future?

Yes I hope so, maybe the Burnley 10k next year.
