Name: Samantha RichmondPosition: Manager of Oakwood House Nursery and Forest School in Huddersfield, part of the Portland Nurseries group

How did it feel when your nursery achieved Outstanding from Ofsted?

We were absolutely ecstatic. It was such a positive experience, the inspector put us at our ease and said nice things in the report. The best was when she said it was the little things, the extra touches, which were the icing on the cake.

How has the group achieved an Outstanding 'hat-trick' with three of its four nurseries?

We have a good system and we're a tight team. We have a lot of support, with whole staff training days at least once a year and opportunities to visit each other's nurseries. It's about shared practice - we're not just four nurseries in isolation. We have a strong bond.

What is the aim now?

We just need Ofsted to come out again to our fourth nursery. They would definitely get an Outstanding now. As we go on, we develop as a company. We don't ever stand still.
