Kids Planet buys nursery number 32

Wednesday, November 7, 2018

Expanding group Kids Planet has bought its tenth nursery this year.

The family-run group based in the north-west of England has acquired its 32nd setting with the help of business property adviser Christie & Co, which brokered the sale.

Bunnies Day Nursery in Chester in the grounds of Chester Rugby Club, was established in 1995 by the rugby club committee and provides places for 75 children and jobs for 22 members of staff.

Kids Planet plans to open a new, purpose-built setting on the site in summer 2019 for the nursery’s existing children and staff.

The new nursery will feature a state-of-the-art sensory room, brightly coloured rooms with secure outdoor areas, and CCTV.

Clare Roberts, chief executive of Kids Planet, said, ‘We are really thrilled to have Bunnies Day Nursery in Chester to add to our group. Chester has been a key geographical target us for a while. This acquisition has given us the opportunity to take over an already established nursery and its team and to have a real vision for its future with the opportunity to build a new nursery on the same site.’

She added, ‘We’re extremely pleased to be opening our doors in Chester on this fabulous site and look forward to delivering high-quality childcare in west Cheshire.’

Sofia Beck, senior business agent at Christie & Co, said, ‘I am extremely pleased to have assisted the committee of Chester Rugby Club with their plans for Bunnies Day Nursery. We were not only able to secure them a buyer for the current business, but also introduce a first class operator tenant with creative vision, who intends to use this impressive site to its full potential.

‘The handover has gone smoothly, and the upcoming redevelopment has been well received by both staff and parents alike, resulting in a positive outcome all round. We wish both the rugby club and Kids Planet all the best, and we’re excited to see the new nursery when it opens its doors next summer.’

In 2017, Kids Planet came first in the Nursery Chains quality league table, with 79 per cent of its settings receiving an Outstanding rating from Ofsted.
