Scottish industrial action

Nearly 4,500 Scottish nursery nurses who are members of the public services union Unison were expected to take part in a three-day programme of industrial action this week. Unison called the action, which was likely to affect 80 per cent of Scotland's nursery provision, in support of a pay and regrading claim first lodged in 2001. Nursery nurses in Glasgow planned to take part in a march on Tuesday to highlight their campaign for better salaries in recognition of their growing responsibilities.
