Learning through Landscapes is offering up to 20 London early years settings the opportunity to improve their outdoor space on a budget with a new award scheme.

All nurseries and schools in Greater London are eligible to apply to the John Laing School Grounds programme, funded by the John Laing Charitable Trust, which offers ideas, expert guidance and tried and tested tips.

The first 20 schools or nurseries to apply will receive an LTL advisory visit and an annual membership offering access to resources and expert advice.

LTL will also provide 160 continuing professional development training spaces to help settings plan their ideas for the outdoors, with a 50 per cent discount on three training sessions (£20 per session) for up to two members of staff.

LTL chief executive Catherine Andrews said, 'In the current financial climate, many settings and schools have limited budgets. Our work will enable them to extend their learning environments at low cost or no cost.'
