Joint success in inspections

The results of the first joint care and education inspections of early years settings in Scotland have just been published following a pilot programme carried out in November and December 2002. The new integrated inspections aim to simplify and rationalise the inspection process by co-ordinating visits from the Care Commission's inspectors and HM Inspectorate of Education (News, 12 September 2002).
