In brief...The Criminal Records Bureau, a new

The Criminal Records Bureau, a new Government body to help employers prevent child abusers working with children, will now not open until next year because of delays with its computer system. The Bureau said last week that although the development phase is scheduled for completion next month, implementation and testing phases have been extended, so the service is expected to begin next summer. The bureau said, 'It is essential that we get the system right and we believe it is better to err on the side of caution.'
