Stephen Morgan, Minister for Early Education: Building something better

Together we have reached this milestone – expanding the childcare entitlement to more families – but the work continues

Earlier this month, we passed the latest transformative milestone in the Government's ambitious early years reforms. From now, thousands more working parents across the country can apply for 30 hours of early education for their children from nine months old. I'm so proud to be working alongside all providers to deliver this support for working families.

This is a fundamental step in our Plan for Change that will make a real difference: easing pressure on household budgets after years of rising costs, empowering more parents to return to work, and giving more children the best start that high-quality early education provides.

But none of this would be possible without you: the early years educators and leaders who have made it happen, supporting children and families and responding to the need for more places with care, resilience and unwavering dedication.
