The Criminal Records Bureau said last week that as the number of applications for its Disclosure service has continued to rise, so too have the number of errors in returned forms. It listed the main reasons why applications had had to be returned - applicants provided 'insufficient evidence' of identity checks in Section X; the applicant's list of previous addresses did not cover the past five years; the countersignatory's number was not entered in Section Y; and the person who countersigned the form was not an approved countersignatory. The CRB has put a section on 'Making sure your Disclosure form is accurate' on the website www.disclosure.gov.uk.
