4325g plain flour, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda, 175g self-raising wholemeal flour, 1 tbsp black treacle, 450ml sour cream or butter milk

A Pre-heat the oven to 200xC.
T Sift the plain flour, salt and bicarbonate of soda into a mixing bowl. Now add all the self-raising wholemeal flour and mix together well with a wooden spoon.
T Take a small bowl, add the treacle and sour cream/ buttermilk and mix together thoroughly.
T Make a well in the centre of the flour mixture, pour in the treacle and buttermilk mixture. Stir well until the mixture forms a dough.
