10 paper towels, cookie cutters, cress or alfalfa seeds, plate or tray water
Step by step
* Pile ten paper towels on to a large flat plate or plastic tray. Put water on the paper towels until they are soaking wet.
* Lay some cookie cutters of various shapes (stars, tractors, dinosaurs) on the towels and spread them out.
* Carefully spread cress or alfalfa seeds into each shape.
* Lift the cutters off the paper towels and place the plate or tray in a light place.
* Water the towels around the seeds very carefully every day. Make sure you don't water the actual seeds.
* When the plants are as long as your little finger, you can cut them and eat them.
* The children will be amazed that they grew cress tractors or dinosaurs.
