Nursery World - Scotland the brave

As a nursery nurse, I think it high time that we finally stand up and be counted. Our profession is looked upon by most as glorified babysitters, where in fact our role is ever-expanding. We provide a strong basis in early years care and education to enable children to approach their school years in a confident and capable manner. For too long we have just sat back and taken what has been dished out to us. So good for the Scottish nursery nurses in their ongoing strike action for higher pay. I support them wholeheartedly.
