
Speaking at their virtual annual conference last night, ‘No Child Left Behind’, the EYA’s chief executive Neil Leitch said, ‘We have heard from the education secretary that in the autumn, we will have the opportunity of creating an early years strategy.
‘People need to be brave. Ministers, Treasury. But it is our opportunity to switch from just about every policy being focused on economics where our children become numbers on a spreadsheet, rather than thinking what is in the best interest of a child, and what is in the best interest of a parent long term?
