Prize nannies

Catharine Ayres has won the Hampshire Nanny of the Year 2001 award run by Winchester-based agency Family Match. At a special lunch in December she was presented with a trophy and 500 by Debbie Thrower of Meridian TV. The runner-up, Sally-Anne Franklyn, won 250 and there were also three highly commended nannies, Jane Eldridge, Zole Doubtfire and Anna Smith. The managing director of Family Match, Jenny Warner, said, 'All the nominated nannies have received great praise from their employers and well-deserved recognition of their dedication to caring for children. They are all shining examples to other aspiring nannies in Hampshire and they display total commitment to their personal calling.' The awards were sponsored by Marwell Zoological Park, the Babyneeds Superstore and Roger Walker Travel in Hampshire.
