The beginning of June sees the Queen celebrate her Golden Jubilee, with an extra two bank holidays for everyone. For some families this will be a great opportunity - or just an excuse - to indulge in a party. Not everyone may be feeling patriotic, but summer is a great time for parties outdoors or indoors, whatever the occasion. The ideas I've included here would also be practical for any type of celebration during the summer months.
I have to confess that I am old enough to remember the previous celebration of the Queen's Silver Jubilee. There was a great deal going on at the time, with street parties and special events for the young and old alike, and the whole atmosphere was very upbeat. I can remember cooking some delicious food with my family, especially for the big day, and it went down a treat.
