Scenario
Chloe (3 years 8 months) is playing in the water tray. She has spent some time there lining up different-sized containers, ordering them from large to small on the side of the water tray, and is now using a jug to pour coloured water into containers. She concentrates hard on pouring an amount of water into each container to fill it to the brim.
Amber (3 years 4 months) arrives at the water tray, observes Chloe, then picks up a small plastic teacup and joins Chloe in filling the containers, watching with interest as water spills over the top. Chloe watches her, then says, 'No they're full now. That's too much.'
