Letter of the week

We have been undertaking a 'healthy eating' policy at our pre-school when we have snacks each morning and have been promoting this instead of the usual milk and a biscuit. We recently received this letter of appreciation from one of our parents and thought it might be of interest to other pre-schools and nurseries. 'I went on a pre-school trip to the market today with some Little Pandas.

'I went on a pre-school trip to the market today with some Little Pandas.

When we returned it was snack time and I was amazed and heartened to see children tucking into tomatoes, cress, apples, cucumbers, spring onions - apparently they'd already polished off the grapes and strawberries! The children then proceeded to enjoy the various breads bought at the market. I just wanted to say thank you for encouraging healthy eating at a time when most establishments are happy to fill our children with food which, far from nourishing their bodies, is actually harming them. Keep up the good work!'
