Lend a hand

Do any Nursery World readers have children in their early years settings who are 70 per cent left-handed but at times are prone to switching to using their right hand? Rather than only assist in the development of one dominant hand, I am asking for some advice in case the children are ambidextrous. Does anyone know of any books that can be recommended to parents to help them and us to assist the children in the development of their fine motor skills, such as specific ways for holding pencils, cutting with scissors, and so on?

Obviously these skills are linked to brain development. Therefore it would be a great help if anyone knows of books or other information linked to this topic. Please write to me on my e-mail address at suew@nextra.hu.
