I was unfortunate enough to work in a nursery where children's safety was compromised by staff and by the premises. Although complaints were made to Ofsted and were then acted upon accordingly, this did not stop new parents enrolling their children, as they had no way of checking the nursery's reputation. I eventually left the setting knowing I had done all I could to remedy this, including contacting Ofsted and parents myself.
If a register detailing all acted-upon complaints were available to prospective clients I am sure it would be well used. As a parent I know that I would use it.
