GPs and other NHS staff who need advice on childcare in Northumberland

GPs and other NHS staff who need advice on childcare in Northumberland can now call a new telephone hotline (01670 534866) and speak with members of the Children's Information Service. There will also be information sessions at each hospital in the area to help NHS staff and GPs find out about local services, including childcare, early education places and the working tax credit. Linda Georgeson, head of personnel at the Northumberland Care Trust, said, 'It is crucial we have a childcare strategy in place, both for those staff we directly employ and those employed in GP practices who serve our community.' She said the trust was delighted to be working in partnership with the CIS and Sure Start to ensure staff could obtain childcare information suited to their needs.
