One of the bonuses of producing a weekly magazine is that we can keep readers right up to date with all the hottest news. This week's news pages are packed with the latest stories on pay and conditions, new training opportunities and the Ofsted takeover of childcare inspection and regulation. But Nursery World is involved in more than just the magazine, and there are several new ventures and events that you shouldn't miss. Our series of management books has an exciting addition with Managing Nursery Food by Mary Whiting. You can read an extract on pages 14-15 and enter a draw to win a copy.

This weekend, the annual Under 12s Exhibition, sponsored by Nursery World and our sister title TES Primary, takes place at London's Business Design Centre. We're looking forward to seeing as many readers as possible at the show. And following the successful debut of our Glasgow exhibition last month, we'll be on the road to Belfast in February 2002 - look out for details.
If you're involved in out-of-school care, our supplement for playworkers, free with Nursery World on 18 October, will be a welcome new publication.
