Free webinars for early years staff to boost take up of Tax-Free Childcare

A series of webinars for all those who work with children are being held with the aim of increasing awareness and understanding of the Government’s Tax-Free Childcare scheme.
It comes as data from the Treasury last year revealed an underspend of billions of pounds on the Tax-Free Childcare scheme since it launched in 2017, due to continued low take-up of the scheme among parents and fewer families using it despite opening an account.
The aim of the 90-minute Zoom sessions which are being delivered by Hempsall’s on behalf of HMRC and taking place on 15 and 16 March, is to share up-to-date information and raise awareness and understanding of TFC. Attendees will be provided with ideas and ‘tools’ to motivate parents to sign up and use TFC to pay for childcare, out-of-school and holiday club provision.
The free to attend webinars will cover the following:
- What is Tax-Free Childcare?
- Why it is important for families and providers?
- How we can all motivate interest and engagement?
- What actions we can take to help people sign-up and use TFC?
The webinars will be recorded, and slides and resources will be shared afterwards.
Those who lead, manage or work in childcare settings can choose from two sessions taking place on 15 March at 1:30-3:30pm (book here) or on 16 March at 6:30-8pm (book here).
For other family facing professionals, including health visitors, social workers or staff who work in children’s centres, there will be a webinar on 15 March at 10-11:30am (book here).
