Toddlers at Little Manor Day Nurseryin Runcorn, Cheshire made spooky pumpkin potions.
They cut the tops off pumpkins and scooped out the insides. Then they separated the seeds from the inners. The children counted the seeds as staff put them into a separate bowl. They used their senses to explore the pumpkin, smelling the inside, feeling how slimy it is and lifting it to gauge the weight.
They used water, glitter, insides of pumpkins, seeds and spices such as cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg to mix together and create potions. The children used pipettes to suck up the water and transfer it.
