This is all very confusing! I've worked with children aged birth toseven for six years, then had a career break to have my own children. For the last couple of years I've been a teaching assistant but wouldlove to get back into the nursery field. I've decided to do a fulldegree, off my own back, with a view to eventually opening my ownnursery. However, I'm stuck on knowing which degree to do (BA in EarlyChildhood Studies or BA in Early Years). I was then planning to get EYPstatus on top of that, but now I'm not so sure!
Why bother achieveing EYP status? - confused.com
I want to start Children's Care, Learning and Development in Septemberbut am still unsure. I am 27. I have completed teaching assistant Level2 and want to further my career to either nursery nursing or teacher. Iwould appreciate some advice.
Starting NVQ Level 3 - Honey
Go for it! Have a go at Level 3 while you are working with the children. Most centres will make sure you have been in your role for a minimum ofsix months prior to starting an NVQ, so that you are competent workingin a team, that you understand fully the policies and procedures and howthe setting works to support the children with activities, displays etc.The NVQ is certainly worth undertaking, It will build on your currentknowledge and also on new skills required.
