Young adults confused about birth and newborns say National Childbirth Trust

Many young adults are confused about birth and living with a newborn baby, according to research published last Monday by the National Childbirth Trust to coincide with the charity's rebranding.

Its survey found that adults aged 18-35 were confused about the lengthof labour and the time needed to look after a newborn baby. The charitysays it is changing its name and logo to NCT to make it clear that itsservices are open to all parents. Chief executive Belinda Phipps said,'We have reorganised our structure and expanded our scope to offer agreater number of courses as well as free services such as informationand support lines, our website and publication.'
