The text works on two levels: it features words that relate to the big object on one page, for example 'paddling pool', and there's complementary conversational text on the opposite page, 'In goes the water'. Here the picture is of a mother rabbit filling the paddling pool. Under the shaped flap, 'Kersplash! Kersplosh!' goes the text, as the young rabbit dives in. Both books have the same successful pattern of object, noun, and a combination of both in a range of scenarios.
