A large piece of thin card felt tipped pens glue a tea bag a leaf a piece of material a small button a piece of pasta any number of other everyday objects

Step by step

* On a large piece of card, draw a grid of squares, each of them roughly two inches by two inches.

* Inside each of the squares, write a description of the 'treasure' that will be needed to fill it.

* Hide the 'treasure' in a place that is easily accessible to the children.

* As the children find each piece of 'treasure', glue it on to the right square.
