The Glasgow-based lone parent organisation One Plus has described a year of 'enormous growth and development' in its annual report for 2002. Highlights included the opening of the organisation's new Childcare and Training Centre in Pollok, and the selection of One Plus to act as lead partner in two consortium New Opportunity Fund bids for out-of-school care initiatives in South Lanarkshire and West Dunbartonshire. One Plus delivers childcare to 500 children in out-of-school care and 176 under-fives in daycare, and collaborates with a range of partners to create services, training and employment within local communities to tackle poverty and social exclusion.
