The big picture: Field of dreams

Families
The Kidz Field celebrated its 20th birthday at the Glastonbury
Festival last weekend. Two-year-olds Jessica and Maxie enjoyed the free
activities, shows and rides in the brightly decorated area full of
murals, including one of festival founder Michael Eavis and badger.

The Kidz Field is the largest free festival for children in Europe, said its organisers, adding, 'We support the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, Article 31, "Every child has the right to relax, play and join in a wide range of cultural and artistic activities."'

The space is just for under-12s and parents and is full of facepainters, clowns, magicians, storytellers, acrobats, play rangers and imagineers, 'all working together to make a happy now and a better future'.
