Nursery nurses employed by local authorities across Scotland are to vote next month on whether to stage an all-out strike in an attempt to improve their pay and career structure.
Last week Unison's industrial action committee agreed to ballot the nursery nurses in early February. The results are expected by the middle of the month.
Joe Di Paola, Unison's organiser for local government in Scotland, said the union had 'only moved to this stage with the utmost reluctance'. He added, 'Even now we are proposing to ballot our members to give an opportunity for Cosla (the council representative body) to come back to the table.
