Danny (pictured centre, with students Afsabranu Popal and Leroy Allen) didn't sing, but he did spend a long time after the ceremony chatting to students about the days when he did his nursery nursing diploma at the college (completed July 1998) and could have become Danny the Nanny instead of Danny the Popstar. 'He's such a nice person; he's really got his feet on the ground,' said the college's curriculum manager for childcare and education, Nicola Price. 'Everyone was pleased to have him there at the awards presentation.' Danny has become something of a champion for men in childcare, voicing his support for other initiatives to recruit more male carers.
