Careers & Training
Name: Rachel Farrow

Position: Early Years Professional at Southfield Day Nursery in Cramlington, Northumberland

- What made you change from doing a degree in law to working at a nursery?

I've always had a passion for childcare and I realised after doing my degree that I didn't want to go into law. I started as a nursery assistant and worked my way up to where I am now.

- How has doing the EYP qualification benefited you?

It has increased my confidence, cemented my enthusiasm for the job and given me skills and experience to improve my practice. It's also helped me feel like I know what I'm talking about, having come from a different background with little on-the-job experience.
