Nursery nurses thinking of changing jobs

Nursery nurses thinking of changing jobs to become a nanny could start by attending a tailor-made one-day course in Cheshire by North West Childcare. Managing director Julia Harris said she came up with the idea when she realised that current training for nursery nurses did not really apply to nannies. She said, 'Becoming a nanny is certainly not the easy option. It presents a whole new set of challenges, as the nature of the employer-employee relationship changes radically.' Leading the seminar will be Paul Davenport, who formerly managed the Diploma in Childcare and Education at Princess Christian College in Manchester. Nursery nurses who are now working as nannies will also be on hand to answer queries. The first course takes place in Altrincham on 31 May and costs 35. To book a place contact Julia Harris on 0161 904 0565.
