I will not be sending them to my local nursery, because I believe there is poor management and a lack of staff. My friends, who still take their children to the nursery, and Ihave raised our concerns with the staff on many occasions, but it is not taken on board. I felt that I had no choice but to remove my children from the nursery.
Is this a sign of how bad nurseries have got at the moment? To highlight a few things with this particular nursery:
* Staff numbers are below Ofsted ratios in the morning and evening.
* Staff are being deployed from other nurseries, but for only half the length of time that they should be.
* Unqualified staff are being left on their own with the children.
* Staff are not turning up to work.
* Concerned parents have tried to get Ofsted involved for many months, but the nursery management is managing to fob them off.
I truly feel that it is not right or fair for our children to be put through this.
