Children at Ashbridge School and Nursery in Hutton, Preston, enjoyed apirate themed party, dressed for the part. They hoisted the Jolly Roger,walked a plank and searched for buried treasure.
- Charity Night
Staff at Happy Hours Private Day Nursery in Workington, Cumbria,presented the West Cumberland Children's Ward and Whitehaven and RVIChildren's Cancer Ward in Newcastle with a cheque for 6,573 afterholding a charity night to raise funds to help two children at thenursery, one who has been diagnosed with leukaemia and another who has anumber of medical conditions.
- World Book Day
Meir Park Day Nursery in Stoke on Trent was among the many early yearssettings across the country who celebrated World Book Day on 4 March bydressing up as characters from favourite stories. Children at ChildFirst Northampton tucked into themed meals such as porridge forbreakfast inspired by 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears' and a MadHatter's Tea Party as in 'Alice in Wonderland', while Burnt OakChildren's Centre in Medway, Kent, held a special Cooks and Bookssession. Children at Just Learning in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire,Wetherby Day Nursery in Yorkshire and Stanlaw Abbey Nursery inMerseyside brought in their favourite books to share.
