Grandparents' tea

Harlequin Nursery in Huddersfield, part of the Portland Nurseries group,invited grandparents to a tea party, where more than 20 grandparentsenjoyed dancing, games and tea with their grandchildren. Nursery managerRuth Tattersall said, 'The special day allowed the children to showtheir appreciation and love towards their grandparents.'

Ten year treats

Victoria Park Nursery in Rusholme, Manchester, celebrated its ten-yearanniversary with a fun day for children and their families. Activitiesincluded games, a bouncy castle and a buffet serving foods fromcountries around the world which are significant to the nursery. 'Bobthe Builder' also made a guest appearance.

Fun fundraising

Two male staff members from Blue House Day Nursery and Pre-School inCroydon will have their legs waxed at a 'pink day' to raise money forMayday Hospital and help children suffering from cancer. The nurserychildren have also been busy making fairy cakes for a fundraising stallwithin the nursery.

Outstanding change

Staff at Kids Inc Day Nursery in Ilford, Essex, were delighted to hearthe nursery had been rated outstanding by Ofsted in its latestinspection. Deputy manager Karli Fairman said, 'At our last inspectionthe nursery was close to losing its grant funding and being shut down.However, a lot has changed over the years, including bringing new staffon board. We are in such high spirits to gain outstanding in all 17areas.'

Bright Scarecrows

Children at Bright Kids Holiday Activity Club in Redditch,Worcestershire, designed and built their own scarecrow for the annualScarecrow Festival at Arrow Valley Country Park. They took inspirationfor their scarecrow from staff, dressing it up in a Bright Kidsuniform.

Graduation time

Mount Vernon Nursery in Northwood, London, said goodbye to the childrenleaving to start school with their own graduation ceremony and teaparty.
