Teddies nursery group has appointed Carole Edmond as its new managing director. In her previous role as head of BUPA Childcare, of which Teddies is part, Ms Edmond led BUPA's move into childcare provision and oversaw the acquisition of Teddies Nurseries in July 2000. Teddies now operates 34 nurseries and employs about 650 staff. Ms Edmond said, 'Teddies Nurseries is set to expand significantly over the next few years with more nurseries opening in existing and new regions of the country. Teddies has established a strong nursery brand, backed by BUPA's expertise in the health and care markets, and I am looking forward to driving the next phase in the company's development.'
