Nanny state

Did anybody notice the comments of Tessa Jowell, the secretary of state for culture, media and sport, in the 80th anniversary issue of Good Housekeeping magazine that's out now? She says that as a female politician, she has been nicknamed by journalists as 'nanny', and finds this quite sexist. 'Don't get me wrong,' says the MP, 'on the positive side, nannies are wonderful people - nurturing, loving and generally supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Let's face it, that's not a bad thing to be, particularly in a job where you need to develop a thick skin at a very early stage.'
