The first informal meeting of the reformed All-Party Parliamentary Group for Flexible Working and Family–Friendly Working was organised by Working Families.
The roundtable event discussed both the challenges of the current 'outdated system', which is failing both mothers and fathers, and how the anticipated Government review into parental leave can be most effective in leading to reform that supports modern families and employers.
Recent research by Working Families found that both mothers and fathers are worried about their access to paid time off with their new babies.
Held in Westminster, it included contributions from Anna Whitehouse (Mother Pukka), the Fatherhood Institute, the 5 Hour Club, Mumsnet, Zurich, TUC, Pregnant Then Screwed and others.
