J M Barrie's hero Peter Pan - still not grown up - is returning more than 100 years after his first adventure in Nevernever Land, the Daily Mail reported. Peter Pan in Scarlet by Geraldine McCaughrean, the first officially sanctioned sequel story, will be launched at a gala party at Kensington Palace on 3 October. Wendy has become a wife and mother, but Nana the dog is dead, the newspaper revealed.

Finally, a pair of baby bootees were among the items recovered when Toyah, a five-month-old bull mastiff, was rushed to the vet after chomping through a pair of children's shoes, a sock, a sequinned scarf and a cardboard box.

The bootees belonged to owner Chloe's 13-month-old son Jack. 'Toyah can be quite naughty and I knew she chewed socks - I just never thought she would eat them,' Chloe told The Sun.
