The Daily Express said that children are finding it more difficult to make friends beca'se they spend so much time on isolated play indoors. A Save the Children survey of British primary school teachers found that many children are unable to interact face-to-face with others beca'se they are supposed to playing on their computers and MP3 players or watching TV alone.
The newspaper also reported that tonsil operations for children could be scrapped as surgeons revealed they are not as effective as previously thought. Surgery does not significantly reduce the number of sore throats children go on to suffer and many are now treated with antibiotics instead.
