A staff member at 1 to 7 Nursery in Eastbourne was apparently informed of the nursery's bankruptcy by text, and told not to bother coming in to work, said the Eastbourne Herald. The paper also spoke to one mother who said she was 400 out of pocket after turning up at the nursery with her child and finding a 'Nursery Closed' sign on the door. Claire Williams said, 'It was a good nursery. It's just completely shocking that this has happened.' She is currently running a makeshift creche together with three staff members at her home.

A 72-year-old man has agreed to become a sperm donor for his own'grandchild', reported BBC News. The anonymous man wishes to donate tohis son and daughter-in-law who cannot conceive through IVF therapy. If achild is conceived it will be its adopted father's genetic half-brother.
