Media watch

Bestselling childcare guru Gina Ford has hit back at her critics in an interview in The Mail on Sunday. She said, 'You'd think, by listening to them, that my mother brought me into this world to boil babies and eat them for dinner. I've devoted my life to helping mothers and I am trashed left, right and centre.' Ms Ford has demanded a public apology from the parenting website Mumsnet over comments made about her methods on its discussion forums. The two parties are due to meet for mediation on 7 March. Tory leader David Cameron said he wants to send his three-year-old daughter Nancy to a faith school in 18 months because it will offer more 'familiarity'. Speaking to the BBCRadio Four programme 'You and Yours', Mr Cameron said, 'Maybe I'm being over- protective, but you sort of feel that your small child is going into an enormous state primary school and may get a bit lost. I want parents to have a choice. In London you have a choice.'
