Being an early years practitioner of many years standing, I can never throw anything away. This includes all my back copies of Nursery World. I spend many enjoyable hours during the summer holidays giving my resources a makeover. This year, I decided to use the lovely photographs of children from the front cover and inside pages of the back issues to complement the poem 'Children Learn What They Live' by Dorothy Law Nolte.
I have cut, pasted and varnished the photographs and a copy of the poem on to hardboard. This will sit in a frame and become an interesting divide for an area of the setting. I can't wait until September to see the pre-school children try out the variety of facial expressions.
