An additional 7bn would be redirected into education and improving childcare under the Liberal Democrats, party leader Nick Clegg has said. The first part of the party's spending review says it would reallocate funding from low priority spending, such as removing tax credits from better-off families, and bring in 20 hours of free care for all children aged 18 months and over. The proposed policies are to be debated at the LibDems conference in March.
