Infant death rates fall in 2004

Figures released from the Office of National Statistics last month revealed that 313 babies in the United Kingdom died suddenly and expectedly in 2004. The Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths welcomed the 12.6 percent fall in deaths compared with the previous year. However, the organisation is calling for more research into infant deaths and additional funding to be made available to 'unravel the mystery of cot death'.
