* Talking Point, the information website behind I CAN's Make Chatter Matter campaign, is expanding to include Talking Links for the early years. This is a UK database offering information to practitioners and parents via a postcode search for local communication development services for under-fives. * Specialist mathematics publisher BEAM Education offers free downloadable games and activities for three- to 13-year-olds every month on its website www.beam.co.uk. 'Maths of the Month' is updated regularly and includes many exercises designed for three- to five-year-olds.

* A new free resource encouraging mothers suffering from domestic violence to seek help has been released by the NSPCC, in the form of a 22-page downloadable booklet at www.nspcc.org.uk. In May the charity will be launching its latest initiative, called 'Don't hide it', urging children to speak out about suffering abusive and violent behaviour.
