
It forms part of the Government’s drive to increase the number of qualified SENCos in early years settings as the number of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) rises.
The DfE funded training, being delivered by the Best Practice Network (BPN), starts this summer.
The 1,000 SENCo training places is on top of the previous 7,064 delivered between 2022 and 2024.
The training is open to applicants currently working as early years SENCos or those due to take up the role. Applicants from PVI settings must hold a full and relevant level 3 early years qualification.
