Free introductory courses on childcare are being offered throughout England over the coming month. The Bite Size Intros scheme, which began on 16 June and runs to 18 July, has been organised by the Learning and Skills Council, the body responsible for the funding and planning of education and training people over the age of 16. Last year 50,000 people took part in Bite Size Intros and more than 40 per cent of them went on to continue further learning. A number of courses of one to three hours are suitable for people interested in both formal and informal childcare. For details visit the website www.bitesizeintros.info or call 0870 900 6800.
