The Booktime programme is organised by Booktrust and supported by theDCSF and media and education company Pearson. It comes amid the findingsof a new Booktrust survey, including that more fathers are reading withtheir children, that children are increasingly losing out on book timebecause parents are distracted with work and technology, that parents ofboys are twice as likely not to read with them compared with those whohave girls, and that one in 20 families in Britain have fewer than tenbooks.
